Perform a 'Sankalpa' pooja if you wish. Walk around the temple complex to admire the ancient architecture. Just a short walk away is the Kotiteertha, a sacred man-made tank where rituals are performed.
The Story & History
Legend says that Ravana was carrying the Atmalinga to Lanka. Lord Ganesha tricked him into placing it on the ground here. Ravana tried to pull it out but failed, giving the linga its unique shape resembling a cow's ear (Gokarna).
