Om Beach
Overview
Om Beach is the heartbeat of Gokarna's tourism. Named after its distinct shape formed by two semi-crescent coves joining together, it mimics the Hindu symbol 'Om'. Unlike the quieter Paradise Beach, Om Beach is buzzing with energy and is the primary hub for organized water sports.

What to do here?
For adventure lovers, this is the spot for Jet Skiing, Banana Boat rides, and parasailing. If you prefer relaxing, head to the famous 'Namaste Cafe' located right at the entrance for panoramic ocean views. You can also start the famous Gokarna Beach Trek from here towards Half Moon Beach.
The Story & History
In the 90s, Om Beach was a secret hideaway for hippies and backpackers. While it has commercialized, you can still find the old-school vibe in the shacks on the far end of the beach.
Important Tips
The currents here can be surprisingly strong near the rocky center. Avoid swimming too far out. Also, autorickshaws charge high rates after sunset, so renting a scooter is highly recommended.
